Lindsay Lohan was a veteran of the entertianment industry when most kids were still skipping rope. When she landed the role of Alli Fowler on Another World, she had already been a well established Ford Model with over 100 commercials on her resume. By the time she made the transition to the big screen she was already considered a triple threat - actor, dancer, and singer.
Her popularity only continued to increase, and she honed a wholesome image as one of Disney's brightest young stars. As she advanced into her late teens however that began to change. Lohan came out as a lesbian, or at least bisexual, she had numerous legal ntanglements that resulted in stints in rehabilitaion for drug and alcohol abuse, and she alienated much of her fan base with outrageous behavior and statements.
The result of this was losing much of her screen work, numerous endorsements, and a reputation that is in need of serious repair, Industry executives have noted that many of her issues likely stem from a turbulent childhood that included less than ideal parents and little time to just be a kid. While she is not the Hollywood leading lady many pegged her to be, many hold out hope she will right her life and return to work.
